Tabek Patah: very wonderful and nice surrounding with Pine Hills all around and rice fields down and under. Tabek means pool, Patah means broken. Tabek Patah was broken into two parts: Talago Pakis and Aia Taganang. In this place we will visit the home industry of coffee and fried banana.
Sungai Tarab: to see coffee mills which are still driven by an ancient watermill system.
Batusangkar: visit a beautiful meeting house ( Rumah Gadang, the center of Minangkabau culture)
Pagaruyung: an honorable visit to the king’s place of the old Pagaruyung kingdom.
Balimbing Village: visit some more than 350 years old traditional Minangkabau houses.
Ombilin River: a beautiful view on the river, the water coming from Lake Singkarak, most people around the river use the water for their daily needs, washing, taking a bath.
Lake Singkarak: it is the biggest lake in West Sumatra and the second biggest in Sumatra after Lake Toba.
Pandai Sikek: to observe the skilled wood carving and weaving, some of the finest craftsmanship in Ranah Minang.

This tour is still in developing period. We want to give you a view in the traditional matriarchal live in West Sumatra. So we go visit a village where the people still live in the traditional sphere. Stay in a Rumah Gadang, the big mother house, and experience the village way of life from the Minang people. Learn how they cook on wood, see how they weave the famous Ikat textile, and prepare and perform a dance event. Also a visit to Batusangkar is included, the center of the Minang culture, where once was the Kings Palace. It is burned down in 2007, but will arise soon. Still there are beautiful examples of the buffalo horn architecture. This is the right place to go back in History. The tour will of course end with a dance performance.

Kotogadang: this village is known for its silver work, and there are still many Old Dutch houses from the colonial times.
Sungai Landir: amazing panoramic view with rice field and traditional Minangkabau houses.
Puncak Lawang: Puncak is top, Lawang is the name of the village. From here you can oversee the whole Lake Maninjau. Here we go to visit the home industry of making brown sugar (saka or gula merah). From this top men can do paragliding down to the lake.
Maninjau Lake: the beautiful volcanic lake in Sumatra nested deep in a crater, the water is a little bit warm and also very clean. So a good place for swimming and relaxing.

Baso Village: most of the people in this village are farmers and some of them still grow the rice field use the buffalo and plough.
Piladang: see how the people make krupuk or crackers from the cassava.
Ngalau Indah: Ngalau means cave, Indah means beautiful. This cave goes deep into the mountain. This is the domain of thousands of bats, which you won’t see, but only hear their squeaks and sense them as they fly close over your head.
Harau Valley: along the road to Harau valley there is a lovely countryside. Steep granite walls shelter the fertile valley. In Harau we visit a 150 meter high waterfall, which falls into a basin. This is a good place for swimming. The Harau valley is a nature and wildlife reserve, where tapirs, siamang (monkey), boars, wild goats and hornbills birds.

We go by minibus to the village, from there us walking for 30 min to one hour through the jungle. Depended on which Rafflesia is blooming.
This gigantic flower grows in Batang Palupuh, 12 kilometers from Bukittinggi. To see the flower we have to walk in the jungle and beautiful countryside. This flower isn’t blooming every month. If the flower is blooming, people in the village will warn us.

West Sumatra has three regions passed by equatorial line; there are Kinali located at the bordering of west Sumatra and north Sumatra and Koto Alam located at the border of west Sumatra and Riau.
Bonjol equator is the most famous equator in west Sumatra and near the village, you can find the Imam Bonjol Museum completed with souvenir and food stalls. Here is a memorial place for the freedom fight against the Dutch colonial.
The museum collects the historical heritages, weapons, riffles used by imam Bonjol and his fellows. There is a signified monument where the equator crosses the Border Boulevard, 56 km from Bukittinggi. The location will become “Equator Park” and right now they just building the new Imam Bonjol Museum.
